Sacraments

  • R.C.I.A./R.C.I.C.

Older children and adults can participate in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (or Children).  Upon attending Mass regularly, the individual will participate in the classes which are held once a week beginning in the fall. Participating in a variety of rites of the church upon completion of rites successfully a baptism will be held at the Easter Vigil Service which will take place the Saturday before Easter.  Persons whom have already been baptized by a valid Christian baptism in some other denomination will make a “Profession of Faith” at this time in the Catholic Church.

  • Religious Education
Classes  on the Catholic Faith are available for students K-12.  Usually they begin in late September and go on to the beginning of May.  The classes are held for various groups on Sundays from 10:15 pm - 11:30 am

  • Baptism

Baptism of Infants (five years old and younger) is celebrated at different times of the year. At least one of the parents or guardians must be an active member of Little Flower for at least six months or having a letter confirming of participating at the last Catholic Church where they were a member. After the parents and God-parents have participated in Pre-Baptism class, the pastor will select a date for baptism.

  • First Communion
First Communion is ordinarily received by Catholic children entering the second grade, after they have adequately completed preparations of Religious Education Classes. Older children as well as adults can receive First Communion after consultation with the Pastor and adequate preparation.

  • Confirmation
Confirmation is a two year program for 7th and 8th graders. After completing the education and service program, the Sacrament of Confirmation is usually celebrated in late January or early February by those students who are 14 years old.  For older students and adults, contact the Pastor to make special arrangements

  • Marriage
Matrimony is celebrated between a man and a woman after premarital instructions, which can take several months for a couple free to marry according to the laws of the Catholic Church.  If either party is not free to marry according to the laws of the Catholic Church (for example a divorce is involved), it could take several years. It is extremely important to talk to the Pastor immediately after the engagement takes place and before wedding dates and other plans are made.

  • Reconciliation
First Confession (Reconciliation) is ordinarily received by the students preparing for their First Communion at the Lenten Penance Service.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available in Church on Saturday from 3:15 p.m. until 3:35 p.m. or by appointment.

  • Funerals
Funerals for members of Little Flower Church are ordinarily held in the church when the family decides and schedules permit.  Funerals are not conducted on Sundays at Little Flower Church. Contact the Pastor or parish office after the death so that arrangements can be made.

  • Anointing of the Sick
Anointing of the Sick is celebrated as needed or a request may be made known. A Communal Anointing of the Sick is usually celebrated at Mass in the late Fall of the year. Contact the Pastor immediately upon request.
